Hello, my name is ...

Participants in the MLK Symposium Cultural Fair share foods and traditions with each other. Shervin Beygi, a second-year Ph.D. student in industrial and operations engineering and a member of the Persian Students Association, writes visitors' names in Persian at the Feb. 3 event. Multi-ethnic student groups hosted the fair and shared various foods and traditions. Visitors to the table are, from left, Arpit Almal, an electrical engineering and computer science (EECS) graduate student; Swati Agarwal, an EECS graduate student; and Amit Dhingra, a mechanical engineering Ph.D student. The event was sponsored by the American Society for Engineering Education, College of Engineering. The MLK Symposium concludes Feb. 12 with a speech by Ernest Green, one of the Little Rock Nine. See page 9 for more information. (Photo by Martin Vloet, U-M Photo Services)
