Surgeons toss scrubs, don skates for transplant patient fund

U-M Health System (UMHS) cardiac surgeons, doctors, nurses and other medical professionals will face-off in the fourth annual Hearts on Ice Hockey Challenge at 5 p.m. April 30 at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.

Hosted by UMHS's Section of Cardiac Surgery and Division of Cardiology, the annual event raises thousands of dollars for the Transplant Fund to make life a little easier for post-transplant patients. Last year, Hearts on Ice raised $5,000 for the fund.

Tickets for the game are $5 and include entrance to the game and a raffle ticket. The grand prize will be a 1997 autographed Detroit Red Wings Stanley Cup jersey.

Admission is free for children ages 12 and under. To order tickets in advance, call (800) 588-5844. Tickets also will be available at the door.
