Clements director search committee namedAn 11-member search advisory committee to select a new director of the William L. Clements Library has been scheduled to begin meeting this month. Teresa Sullivan, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, named the committee in May. "I look forward to the selection of a new director who will continue the intellectual and educational activities important to the future of the Clements," Sullivan wrote in a memo announcing the committee membership. Members are Charles Eisendrath (chair), associate professor of communication studies, LSA and director, Knight Wallace Fellows, Rackham Graduate School; Francis Blouin, director, Bentley Historical Library, professor of information, School of Information and professor of history, LSA; Paul Courant, university librarian and dean of libraries, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Economics, faculty associate, Survey Research Center, professor, economics department, professor, Ford School of School of Public Policy; James Irwin, Clements Committee of Management; John King, vice provost for academic information, Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and professor of information, School of Information; Marcus McCorison, Clements Committee of Management; Joanna Schoff, Clements Committee of Management; Joseph Schwarz, chair, board of directors of the Alumni Association; Maris Vinovskis, A.M. and H. P. Bentley Professor of History, LSA, professor of public policy, Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and Research, and professor, Center for Political Studies, Institute for Social Research; Donald Wilcox, librarian, Clements Library; and Elizabeth Yakel, associate professor, School of Information. Brian Dunnigan has been chosen by Sullivan to serve as interim director, effective July 1. Current director John Dann will retire at the end of June after 30 years in the position and a 35-year career at the library. More Stories
