This photo by Kristen Fazzari, senior computer systems specialist, was among art works ranging from paintings and large scale sculpture to video, sound pieces, prints, photographs and installations, presented in the fourth annual Staff @ Work exhibition through July 7 at Work Gallery, 306 S. State. Exhibit organizers seek to demonstrate that it's not only School of Art & Design faculty and students who are dedicated to a life of creative work, it's also the staff. Many Art & Design staff, including administrators, studio coordinators, financial officers and exhibition preparators, also are talented artists and designers in wide range of media. Some of the staff exhibiting work, like Studio Coordinators Ken Brown and John Leyland, as well as Exhibit Director Mark Nielsen, have presented national and international exhibitions. Some, like Exhibit Coordinator Graham Hamilton, make work primarily because they love the process. Some have graduate degrees, some little formal training, but whatever their backgrounds, the quality of their efforts and their commitments to creative work are evident in the public show, organizers say.
