Regents meeting April 21

The Board of Regents will have its monthly meeting at 3 p.m. April 21 in the Regents Room of the Fleming Administration Building. To offer public comment at the meeting, sign up in advance at Public comments on agenda items will be taken prior to their consideration. Comments on nonagenda items will follow the regular business agenda. Medical School offers new scholarship

A Medical School scholarship has been established to honor the memory of Dr. Deepika Mazumder of the school’s research community, who died in 2000. The scholarship, which recognizes her impact on research at the institution, will provide tuition support for a medical student to study the handling of volunteers in clinical research studies, and advancing ethical practices in medicine. Her husband, Pinaki Mazumder, is a professor of electrical engineering and computer science in the College of Engineering.

ITS offers increased hours of support

The ITS Service Center (formerly known by students as the Accounts Office and 4HELP; and by staff as Help Desk and Access & Accounts) recently increased its support for campus by establishing new hours of operation. The new hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday (phone and e-mail) and 11 to 5 p.m. Sunday (e-mail only). The Service Center also has changed its phone prompts,

Submit commencement activities to Record

The University Record will publish information on university commencement activities in the April 18 issue. Departments and units are asked to submit their commencement details including speaker information, date, time and location by 5 p.m. April 11 only if this information already is not listed on the Spring Commencement Web site at Submissions to the Record can include additional information on departmental and unit commencement activities.
