The university and the U-M Skilled Trades Union (UMSTU) have reached a tentative agreement on a four-year contract covering about 500 U-M employees.
While specific details are not available pending the outcome of a ratification vote, the agreement includes wage increases over the four-year contract term.
The most recent contract expired on July 31, and members of the union that represents skilled trades staff on all U-M campuses will vote on the new agreement on Aug. 24. The union includes such employees as electricians, plumbers and carpenters.
The ratification vote will take place from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Kipke Conference Center, 1239 Kipke Dr.
