Greg Keoleian, professor in the School of Natural Resources and Environment and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and co-director of the Center for Sustainable Systems, recently was elected to a two-year term as president of the International Society for Industrial Ecology. The society is an interdisciplinary forum of scientists, engineers and policymakers that advances systems-based analysis methods, tools and solutions for improving the sustainability of technology, product and service systems and economies.
Alexandre DaSilva, assistant professor of prosthodontics, School of Dentistry, has been selected by the Migraine Research Foundation, a nonprofit devoted to funding ground-breaking research into the causes and better treatments of migraine disease, as one of seven winners of its 2010 research grants. DeSilva won for his research project Endogenous Opioid Mechanisms in Chronic Migraine.
