The information is presented for faculty and staff to get the most out of their university connection.
The University Record will publish information on university commencement activities in the April 23 issue. Departments and units are asked to submit their commencement details including speaker information, date, time and location by 5 p.m. April 16 only if this information already is not listed on the Spring Commencement website at www.umich.edu/~gradinfo/spring/. Submissions to the Record can include additional information on departmental and unit commencement activities. Information will be accepted by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, via fax to 734-764-7084 or through campus mail to University Record, 412 Maynard, 48109-1399.
Michigan Radio, the public radio service of U-M, generated more than 6,900 pledges totaling more than $817,000 during its recent on-air fundraiser. The station exceeded its fundraising goal by approximately 6 percent. Michigan Radio serves Detroit and southeast Michigan at 91.7 FM, west Michigan at 104.1 FM, and 91.1 FM in the Flint area. It is the state’s most listened-to public radio service, attracting approximately 500,000 listeners each week.
The Board of Regents will have its monthly meeting at 3 p.m. April 19 in the Rogel Ballroom, Michigan Union. Comments on nonagenda items will follow the regular business agenda. The 2nd Annual Work/Life Champion Award for Supervisors recognizes those who promote work/life balance through consistent recognition of and responsiveness to their employee’s professional and personal lives. The award is open to both faculty and staff supervisors who are nominated by staff they supervise. Recipients receive a gift certificate and plaque, and are honored at the annual Connecting the Dots Conference.
