The Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs (SACUA) on April 9 elected Kimberlee Kearfott, a professor in the College of Engineering and Medical School, to chair the university’s faculty governance system for the coming year. Karen Staller, associate professor of social work, was elected vice chair. Both positions carry one-year terms that begin May 1. Kearfott and Staller also will serve as chair and vice chair, respectively, of the 74-member Senate Assembly. SACUA is the nine-member executive arm of the Senate Assembly and the University Senate.
Families and friends are invited to a Campus Memorial program to honor the lives and accomplishments of students who have died during the year. The program is from 1:30-2:30 p.m. today in the Michigan League Hussey Room. The students being remembered are Patrick Fleming, Jordan Harris, Moises Pigg, Gustavo Serrano and Brandon Streb. There will be remarks by representatives from the Division of Student Affairs and the Association of Religious Counselors.
