Sustainability fair

Four faculty members named Fulbright Scholars for 2011-12


Three faculty members from the Ann Arbor campus and one from UM-Dearborn have been awarded 2011-12 U.S. Department of State Fulbright Scholar grants to lecture or conduct research abroad.

Deadline extended for MHealthy screening

MHealthy has extended the deadline to complete the MHealthy Rewards Wellness Screening to June 19.

Record encourages participation in readership survey

As part of a major initiative to review and improve The University Record, we are inviting readers to share thoughts and opinions through a confidential survey. We want to know what you think about the Record, the Record Update and associated online publications. The survey, which is administered by Maguire Associates, will remain open through June 17.

Renovations help enhance services at Orthotics and Prosthetics Center


Coinciding with its 100th year anniversary this year, the Orthotics and Prosthetics Center has undergone $1.2 million in renovations that have nearly doubled the facility’s patient care space, and enhanced waiting rooms, provided accommodations for the U-M amputee support network and therapy capacity among other improvements. The public is invited to an open house June 19.

Advisory committee named for vice president and general counsel search

President Mary Sue Coleman has appointed a search advisory committee for the next vice president and general counsel.

Provost Phil Hanlon has named a search advisory committee for the next dean of the Law School.

2012 OVPR staff recognition award recipients announced

The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) will honor three U-M staff members for outstanding research service. Jackie Hoats Shields will receive the OVPR Exceptional Service Award, and Cathy Thibault and Sharon Vaassen each will receive a Distinguished Research Administrator Award.

UMHS, St. Joseph Mercy team up on specialized geriatric care unit

In a joint effort to improve health outcomes for the region’s older adult patient population, the U-M Health System and St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor will collaborate to open a medical care unit specializing in geriatric care.
