Big House Big Heart

The annual Big House Big Heart Run/Walk (BHBH) has moved to the spring and, this year, will take place April 15. The chip-timed 5K and 10K races start at Michigan Stadium, go through campus and end inside the stadium at the 50-yard line. M+Google: Five facts U-M’s chief IT security officer wants you to know

Google implemented a new privacy policy March 1 that affects all users, including the faculty, staff and students on the U-M Ann Arbor campus who have had access since March 5 to more than 40 tools and services in Google Apps for Education, a cloud-based computing platform.

Accreditation assessment team invites public comment

Faculty, staff, students and visitors of U-M are invited to comment later this month on the activities and policies of the Department of Public Safety (DPS) as part of a national accreditation assessment, DPS Interim Chief Joseph Piersante announced March 7.

Deborah Dash Moore to receive National Jewish Book Award

U-M historian Deborah Dash Moore will receive the National Jewish Book Award Wednesday at the Center for Jewish History in Manhattan.

Six vie for three SACUA seats

The Senate Assembly will elect three members to the Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs at its March 19 meeting. The three top vote getters will serve three-year terms. Additional candidates may announce their intent to run up to the time of the election.

The university has launched a process to develop an appropriate approach for responding to allegations of sexual misconduct among students.

Lecture series to spur campus conversation about activism

The upcoming lecture series, "Equity, Justice and Social Change: The Michigan Tradition of Activism and Educational Opportunity," will provide information about Michigan's longstanding tradition of activism and social justice, and create opportunities to learn about and reflect upon current social issues.

U-M honored for campus internationalization

U-M is one of five U.S. colleges and universities honored with a 2012 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization, NAFSA: Association of International Educators has announced.

UMHS, St. Joseph Mercy team up on specialized geriatric care unit

In a joint effort to improve health outcomes for the region’s older adult patient population, the U-M Health System and St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor will collaborate to open a medical care unit specializing in geriatric care.
