Nominees sought for seat on police oversight panel

Nominations are being sought for candidates to fill the union representative staff position on the university’s Police Department Oversight Committee. This seat represents bargained-for staff members from: AFSCME, IUOE, HOA, MNA and Skilled Trades. Union members may nominate themselves or another union member The deadline for nominations is May 10. The election will run from June 10-21. To submit a nomination online, go to hr.umich.edu/umpd/unionnomination.html. Nominations also may be submitted to University Human Resources, 2005 Wolverine Tower, 3003 S. State St., Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109-1281, attention: Shirley Sindlinger, or by emailing ssindlinger@umich.edu. For more information, contact University Human Resources at 734-763-2387.

Neubacher Award nominations sought

The Council for Disability Concerns seeks nominations by June 1 for the 24th Annual James T. Neubacher Award, named for an alumnus and Detroit Free Press columnist who was an advocate for people with disabilities. Nominations are sought for faculty, staff, students and alumni making significant contributions to improve awareness, access, acceptance and full participation in society for persons with disabilities. Nomination forms are available at hr.umich.edu/neubacher.
