Regents meeting Dec. 13

The Board of Regents will have its monthly meeting at 4 p.m. Dec. 13 in the Anderson Room, Michigan Union. To offer public comment at the meeting, sign up in advance at www.regents.umich.edu/meetings/publform.html. Public comments on agenda items will be taken prior to their consideration. Comments on nonagenda items will follow the regular business agenda. People with disabilities who need assistance should contact the Office of the Vice President and Secretary of the University in advance at 734-764-3883. Health System wins consumer honor

For the 14th year in a row, consumers have voted the U-M Health System (UMHS) as the best hospital in the Ann Arbor area, to earn the National Research Corporation’s 2012 Consumer Choice Award. Also, UMHS tied with Detroit-based Henry Ford Hospital for best hospital in the Detroit area for the third year in a row, by a vote of Wayne County residents.

Register for Kids Kare program

Kids Kare at Home offers emergency back-up help when regular childcare is unavailable, such as when a child must stay home due to illness. Register now through Dec. 21 to ensure access to the service starting Jan. 1 and get more information at hr.umich.edu/worklife/kidskare/index.html. Those who enrolled in this Work/Life Resource Center service in 2012 must re-register for next year.
