MFarmers’ Market to come to campus

The second annual MFarmers’ Market is from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday and Oct. 11, on the courtyard patio at the Michigan Union, and Sept. 27 on North Campus in the Duderstadt Center Gallery. The markets offer fresh fruits and vegetables from local farms, cooking demonstrations, free samples, giveaways, recipes, a plant sale and tips for healthy and sustainable eating. They are hosted by the Central Student Government and University Unions.

Johnson Award nominations sought

The Office of the Provost is accepting nominations for the Candace J. Johnson Award for Excellence, which recognizes exemplary staff at the Ann Arbor and Health System campuses. Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate any regular staff member who combines enthusiasm with excellence to make a difference. The nomination deadline is Oct. 1. A $500 cash award and certificate will be awarded in December. For more information and nomination forms, go to
