Campus tours attended by thousands
Families of prospective students from Philadelphia, Chicago, Cleveland, Metro Detroit and out-state Michigan recently visited U-M and took part in a 90-minute Central Campus Walking Tour. The group is among 7,000 people projected to take tours in August, the busiest tour month of the summer.

U-M prepares for H1N1 flu this fall
The university will launch a promotional campaign this fall designed to remind students, staff and faculty to cover their coughs and wash their hands frequently as ways to prevent the spread of the flu. The first phase of that campaign was launched this week with an e-mail message outlining flu preparations sent to students and parents, and another to faculty and staff.

U-M, Ann Arbor team up for transportation center
The university and the city of Ann Arbor are teaming up to move forward on development of an Intermodal Transportation Center along Fuller Road, north of the U-M Medical Center. U-M has committed to paying most of the cost of a site analysis, a survey and the concept plan development of the site.

U-M again ranks near the top in U.S. News & World Report rankings
The university continues to rank near the top in the U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings of the nation’s best undergraduate colleges and universities. The 2010 rankings were released today. UM-Dearborn also was rated among the best universities in the Midwest.
