The remains of an extraordinary fossil unearthed in 67-million-year-old sediments from western India reveal that snakes preyed on hatchling dinosaurs. Jeffrey Wilson, assistant curator of the Museum of Paleontology and assistant professor of geological sciences, discusses the fossil and its significance.

UM-Dearborn appoints new dean of College of Arts, Sciences and Letters
Jerold Hale has been named dean of the College of Arts, Sciences and Letters at UM-Dearborn. Currently a professor in the Department of Speech Communication at the University of Georgia, Hale will begin his five-year appointment July 1, pending approval by the Board of Regents.

Sharing educational opportunity
Annette Karageanes clearly recalls the generosity of others who helped her succeed as a student and early in her career. She once asked someone who had helped her how to repay the debt. That person’s advice? Lend a helping hand to someone else someday. In that spirit the College of Pharmacy graduate (BSPharm, ’83) created the Karageanes Family Scholarship to support PharmD students. "Now is the time to act, to pay it forward," she says.
