Each year three million athletes suffer a concussion, a brain injury that can have lasting impacts. U-M researchers and physicians are taking a new approach to diagnosing, preventing and researching concussion at a new clinic dedicated to a neurological strategy: the Michigan NeuroSport Concussion Program. URC partners in biggest business plan competition
The Business Accelerator Network for Southeast Michigan, a new regionwide network for building and retaining new business, announced today the Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition, the world’s largest business plan competition. The University Research Corridor — comprised of U-M, Michigan State University and Wayne State University — is a partner in the competition, which kicks off today and offers $1 million in cash awards.

UM-Flint program allows high school students to prepare for future
The UM-Flint Office of Educational Opportunity Initiatives recently brought 50 students, who will enter high school this fall, to live on campus for five weeks through a unique program called Committed to Excellence and Opportunity. The program is designed to expose students from disadvantaged school districts to the concept of college.

Sustaining Kenya
The Graham Environmental Sustainability Institute is reaching out to promote sustainable conservation in the Laikipia region of Kenya, one of the most economically challenged and biologically diverse areas of the world. Undergraduate and graduate students are part of the Integrative Experiential Learning and Research project at the 48,000-acre Mpala Wildlife Conservancy and Research Center in Kenya.
