Q&A: Michigan Meeting on the arts' role at a research university
The first of this year's two Michigan Meetings is titled “The Role of Art-Making and the Arts in the Research University.” Theresa Reid, executive director of ArtsEngine, was interviewed for Montage, the U-M arts portal, about the May 4-6 symposium. ArtsEngine, an integrative initiative led by the deans of U-M’s five North Campus units, is involved with organizing the event.

A home for a veteran
The recent presentation of a renovated house to U.S. Navy veteran Ashley Gordy capped off six months of work by two UM-Flint groups, Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the Student Veterans of America. A joint effort with Habitat for Humanity, the project involved thousands of volunteer hours and thousands of dollars in donations.
