SNRE dean Miranda to deliver Wege Lecture on Sustainability
Marie Lynn Miranda, dean of the School of Natural Resources and Environment, will deliver the Peter M. Wege Lecture on Sustainability on March 26. The title is "Fostering Environments to Sustain our Children's Health."

Big House Big Heart Run/Walk fundraiser moves to April 15
The annual Big House Big Heart Run/Walk (BHBH) has moved to the spring and, this year, will take place April 15. The chip-timed 5K and 10K races start at Michigan Stadium, go through campus and end inside the stadium at the 50-yard line. A portion of BHBH registration fees goes to a number of U-M programs.

Elections under way for faculty representatives on DPS Oversight Committee
The election process to fill two faculty representative positions on the Department of Public Safety Oversight Committee is under way. One position will be filled by a member of the Faculty Senate in an election conducted by the Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs. Election of the non-Senate faculty representative is being handled by University Human Resources.

Engineering student turned actor
As a sophomore engineering student at U-M Mark Metcalf had no clue he would one day play an iconic role in the 1978 movie "Animal House" and go on to a successful stage, movie and TV acting career. A chance audition for a U-M production of "Henry VI" not only changed Metcalf’s major in college, but gave him the opportunity to help promote local artists, work with young filmmakers and inspire generations of audiences with his memorable roles.
