Fifth annual e-waste recycling event a success
U-M staff and faculty, and local community members, contributed to the collection of 220 tons of electronic waste during the fifth annual e-waste recycling event earlier this month. An estimated 3,268 vehicles passed through the drop-off locations during the three-day event.
Four faculty members named Fulbright Scholars for 2011-12
Three faculty members from the Ann Arbor campus and one from UM-Dearborn have been awarded 2011-12 U.S. Department of State Fulbright Scholar grants to lecture or conduct research abroad.
UM-Dearborn, Oakwood Healthcare partner to improve childhood health and education
Oakwood Healthcare and UM-Dearborn are expanding an existing collaboration to create a more inclusive health and learning environment for children with and without disabilities. The new partnership will build on the work currently happening at Oakwood’s Center for Exceptional Families and UM-Dearborn’s Early Childhood Education Center.

Networking entertainment connections
April Moreau and Amy Fleischman share a passion for the entertainment industry. To prepare themselves and other students for a career in entertainment, the two 2012 spring graduates organized the UMEC-LA Networking Night to bring together past and present Wolverines interested in getting into entertainment. At the March event, students had the opportunity to network with successful alumni currently working in the industry and received advice about how to break into the competitive world.
