More offices seek Sustainable Workplace certification
Months after launching a program to transform offices into greener workplaces, the Office of Campus Sustainability is busy providing nearly 40 campus units with recommendations for environmentally friendly operations. Through the Sustainable Workplace program, OCS assists offices in identifying simple adjustments in equipment settings, while educating employees on behavioral changes, to improve energy efficiency and waste reduction in the workplace.
Commission for Women names Susan B. Anthony Award winners at UM-Dearborn
Janice Lewis-Boyd, university registrar at UM-Dearborn, has been chosen to receive the Susan B. Anthony Campus Award in recognition of her efforts on behalf of women. The Commission for Women also selected community leader Geraldine Barrons to receive its the Susan B. Anthony Community Award.
Big lineup of activities around U-M this weekend
The U-M men's basketball Final Four game against Syracuse likely will command the attention of many on Saturday night. But there are several major events involving U-M that are occurring around Ann Arbor this weekend, including FoolMoon and FestiFools, the Dance for Mother Earth Powwow, and the annual Dance Marathon.

Some said women lacked the physical stamina and intellectual rigor for college; others — including several with ambitious daughters — were sure that women could compete.
