Program promotes opportunities for fresh produce on campus
The university community now has options around campus to buy fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. Affordable farm-fresh produce will be available through the Eat Smarter Fresh Produce Series on select dates at University Hospital's Towsley Triangle, Wolverine Tower, and the North Campus Research Complex.
U-M, Shanghai Jiao Tong University fund joint energy, biomedical projects
As part of an ongoing collaboration, seven joint research teams from U-M and Shanghai Jiao Tong University have won funding for research projects that explore the potential of nanotechnology in energy and biomedical applications. The programs bring together teams with complementary perspectives and areas of expertise to address challenges in energy and health that transcend national borders.
Athletics announces sustainability initiative on MGoBlue.com
The Athletic Department has launched a page on the MGoBlue.com website to further its sustainability initiative. The department will focus on four key areas: waste reduction and recycling; energy efficiency and sustainable building infrastructure; water conservation, chemical usage and sustainable cleaning practices; and education and awareness.

Juli (LeSage) Kaufmann is an eco-entrepreneur and Stephen M. Ross School of Business alumna who doesn't always fit the image of a real estate developer. A self-described "contrarian," Kaufmann is changing the way people do business in Milwaukee. As the founder of Fix Development, she combines business savvy with a passion for social justice. She also founded Fund Milwaukee, which connects local investors with local entrepreneurs.
