Faculty evaluation of administrators under way

The U-M Faculty Senate is conducting its annual online evaluation of university administrators. The evaluation tool will be available as of 8:30 a.m. today (Nov. 22). The 2010 evaluation is open to all voting members of the Faculty Senate, clinical faculty in the School of Dentistry and members of the Lecturers’ Employee Organization. To access the evaluation, go to aec.umich.edu.

U-M robot team wins $750,000 grant

A team of 14 autonomous robots built by U-M students has won an international competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense and its Australian counterpart. The team of more than 20 students, mostly from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, won a $750,000 grant for finishing in first place out of five teams in the final round of the contest. MAGIC, which stands for Multi Autonomous Ground-robotic International Challenge, initially involved 23 teams. The competition took place in stages over more than two years.

Submit holiday closing hours to Record

The University Record will compile a list of holiday closing and reduced service reminders to print in the Dec. 13 issue. Units that wish to be included in the publication must submit information by 5 p.m. Nov. 30. The Record does not publish Nov. 29. Send information regarding holiday hours to urecord@umich.edu and put “Holiday Hours” in the Subject line. Remaining editions of The University Record this year are Dec. 6 and 13.
