Question of the Week

Do you think Michigan’s economy has improved since this time last year?

Suzanne Witthoff, museum store manager, U-M Museum of Art
“Yeah, I do think it has improved some. I base that on the fact that I have family members who weren’t working last year but are now, and as manager of the museum store we’re seeing more people shopping and spending more.” Photo by Kristin Thomas.

Sotirios Malamis, U-M Freshman, Chicago
“I think it improved overall. My parents own a business and they’re doing better this year compared to last year. So based on that I’d say that the economy seems to be getting better.” Photo by Kristin Thomas.
Ellen Muehlberger, assistant professor of Near Eastern studies and history, LSA
“I think yes, and I’m only basing that on the number of people in my family who have found jobs or more work this year. So it’s not scientific, but it certainly feels like it’s better.” Photo courtesy Ellen Muehlberger.
