Innovator Award ceremony Thursday

The 2012 Distinguished University Innovator Award ceremony and lecture will be presented at 4 p.m. Thursday at Kahn Auditorium in the Biomedical Science Research Building. The lecture “Photon to Atom to Application” will be presented by award winner Jyotirmoy Mazumder, the Robert H. Lurie Professor of Mechanical Engineering, professor of materials science and engineering, and director of the Center for Laser-Aided Intelligent Manufacturing. A reception will follow. The event is sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Research.

Neubacher award nominations sought

The Council for Disability Concerns seeks nominations by June 1 for the 23rd Annual James T. Neubacher Award, named for an alumnus and Detroit Free Press columnist who was an advocate for equal rights and opportunities for people with disabilities. Nominations are sought for faculty, staff, students and alumni making significant contributions to improve awareness, access, acceptance and full participation in society for persons with disabilities.
