Classical translation contest opens

The Contexts for Classics 11th annual Classical Translation invites graduate and undergraduate students from all departments across U-M to submit translations of texts from Latin, and ancient and modern Greek. Up to three prizes of $100 will be given in each category for winning entries of original translations. Submissions should be handed in to the Comparative Literature Office in 2015 Tisch Hall by April 2. For more information, go to www.umich.edu/~cfc/classicaltranslations12.html.

Research project grants available

The Michigan Corporate Relations Network, made up of six regional universities including U-M and UM-Dearborn, is soliciting proposals for its Small Company Innovation Program. The program will provide cost-sharing grants to foster collaboration between MCRN universities and small-to-medium size companies on research projects for new commercial products or services. Projects are funded at $20,000-$40,000 and require one-to-one matching funds from the sponsoring company. For more information go to www.michigancrn.org/scip. The proposal deadline is May 1.
